Gedion Markos

Brief info

Artist Gedion Markos was born in Addis Ababa in 1990. He went to Hawassa for elementary school and Addis
Abeba for high school. In 2013, he earned a BA in painting from the Alle School of Fine Arts and Design at
Addis Ababa University. He received recognition for his efforts from the Addis Ababa City Administration,
UNFPA, UN Migration-IOM, Pan African Technical Association, and Commercial Bank of Ethiopia. The
National Museum of Ethiopia, the Addis Ababa Museum, the Hilton Hotel, the Tulip Inn Hotel, the Zig Zag
Hotel, and the Golf Club have had exhibitions of his works. He is a part of the Hibir Art Group and staged a
group exhibition about the Adwa battle at National Museum of Ethiopia, Addis Abeba Museum and Century
Mall Exclusive Gallery. He is a rising star among Ethiopia's young artists. Gedion works as a studio artist fulltime right now
